You will visit the Alcazaba fortress which is built on a hill in the city center. The buildings at the current site date back to the 11th century. It is one of the best preserved castles in Spain. Interesting features you will notice here include the horseshoe arches at the entrance of the main hall and multifoil arches. Located at the foot of the Alcazaba hill, the Teatro Romano de Málaga will be your next stop. Here, you will see remains of a Roman era theater building. The origins of this site date back to as early as 6th or 7th century BC. You will walk by the Museo Picasso Malaga, a museum containing 285 works of art donated by Picasso’s family. It is located in a 16th century building known as the Buenavista Palace. As we continue, you will get to see Renaissance architecture and impressive artworks at the Málaga Cathedral. It was constructed between 1528 and 1782. The facsace is made in Baroque style. This is the second highest cathedral in Andalusia. Finally, you will visit the Mercado Central de Atarazanas which is one of the most important shopping centers in the city dating back to the 14th century. Here, you will find fresh food products.
