Description
Located on the top of Mount Gibralfaro, Castillo de Gibralfaro is one of the most iconic monuments in Malaga and a must-see for those who want to discover the city's history.
Built in the 14th century, the castle was designed to strengthen the Alcazaba's defensive system and protect Málaga from enemy attacks. It still retains much of its imposing walls and original structure today.
During your visit, you can walk the rampart along the fortified walls, explore watchtowers, bastions and historic courtyards, and visit the interpretation center, where you will learn about the history of the fortress and its strategic role over the centuries.
From the top of the castle, spectacular panoramic views await you over the harbor of Málaga, the historic old town, the Bullring, the Mediterranean Sea and, on clear days, the surrounding coastline. An experience that combines history, culture and some of the most stunning views of the city.
