Start with a visit to the Alcazaba, one of the best-preserved Islamic fortresses in Spain. Built in the 11th century, this imposing citadel-fortress captivates with its elegant Moorish architecture, courtyards, lush gardens, ornamental fountains, and mighty defensive walls. Walking through its historic rooms, you will discover the cultural heritage left by the Muslim dynasties that ruled Malaga.
Then continue to Gibralfaro Castle, located on the summit of Mount Gibralfaro. Built in the 14th century to strengthen the defensive system of the Alcazaba, the castle was a key element in the defense of the city during the Middle Ages.
