Description
Leave Málaga in a small group limited to just 8 guests and travel into the elevated countryside of Mollina, around 550 metres above sea level. The intimate format keeps the day personal, relaxed and easy to follow from the first explanation to the final tasting.
Begin at Paco Campaña’s certified organic fields. Walk among olive trees over 300 years old, historic vines, almond trees close to a century old and working beehives. Learn how altitude, soil, climate and organic cultivation shape the grapes and olives before they reach the winery and olive mill.
Continue to Sociedad Cooperativa Virgen de la Oliva, an active wine and olive oil producer rather than a visitor centre created for tourism. With authorised accompaniment from the cooperative, go behind the scenes through the olive mill, bottling areas and traditional cement-tank hall.
The cooperative produces more than one million litres of wine and more than one million litres of olive oil each year, and some of its wines have received international recognition. Despite that scale, your visit remains limited to 8 guests, allowing for a much closer look at the people, spaces and methods behind the products.
One of the most distinctive moments takes place in the production area, where you will sample wine directly from a traditional cement tank. What is actively being produced can vary with the agricultural season, but the working areas and complete production process will still be explained.
Finish at a carefully prepared tasting table with 5 wines and 3 olive oils produced at the cooperative. Each guest receives an individual tapas pairing tray, while Spanish tortilla is served in the centre of the table to share.
The tasting is informative without becoming formal or overly technical. Your guide connects the aromas, textures and flavours with the landscape, grape varieties and production methods you have already discovered.
Round-trip transport from Plaza de la Marina in central Málaga is included, so every part of the day is coordinated from departure to return.
