This canyoning experience takes place in the Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara, and Alhama Natural Park, suitable for outdoor enthusiasts comfortable with moderate physical activity and water challenges.
Description
Meet in Nerja, La Herradura, Almuñécar, or Otívar (Granada) in the morning. From there, a van transfers you to the protected natural park area where the canyoning begins. After a brief walk to the starting point, you will prepare your equipment and put on your wetsuit.
Your experienced guide will explain the route, safety instructions, and techniques for rappelling, sliding, and swimming. You can skip jumps if uncomfortable—alternative paths are available for those with vertigo. Fresh water springs along the route provide natural hydration.
The guided descent lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours and includes jumps from several meters high, slides, and swims through the Rio Verde Canyon. The route offers an immersive experience in nature and group camaraderie.
After completing the final jump, return to the van for a picnic featuring locally produced snacks and a refreshing beer. The tour concludes with transport back to the original meeting point.
