Nice, simple, clean place to stay. Staff was friendly and the coffee was good. In mid-June, the jasmine was blooming, and the whole place smelled amazing. Location is excellent, a short walk from the historic center, so close enough but also calm enough. For some reason, I was unable to get a bottom sheet for the other half of my bed (I was traveling alone, but one would still like the whole mattress to be covered?), but it didn't seem worth worrying about after a couple of tries to correct it.
This charming guest house is a beautiful old house close to the historical center. The staff was super friendly and more than helpful, and the athmosphere was very cozy! This is the perfect place for you if you don't like big, neutral hotels. Our room had a bathroom, air conditioning, electric kettle with tea and coffee supplies, and a fridge, all we needed! The breakfast offering was basic but sufficient. If you want to prepare your own meals, there is a kitchen with all the required equipment. There is no elevator, so if you have problems with stairs, ask for a room on the ground floor. I warmly recommend this lovely place!
A cozy place just outside of the city centre. You can reach everything easily by foot but have a quiet stay nevertheless. The interior shows a lot of love for details, the rooms are not large but have everything requred and the beds are good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
The room was adequate and simple (Room 1). However! The noise from people on the terrace, in the kitchen, and in the corridor was too much, especially early, and when people were leaving, and for breakfast and cleaning times, but when it was quiet, it was great. The area is great, quiet and close, but not too close to everything. I enjoyed exploring. I read the use of the roof terrace when I booked the room, but on inquiry, I was told this was for private use only, a disappointment. The shared bathroom needs updating, and the 1 shared toilet was not in good condition, very small and opens into the centre area. I checked out after 2 days and went to an Airbnb, similar to this place, but close to the beach, with 2 shared quality bathrooms, and considerably less (18 euros per night). This place is nice, but I do not think it's the best value for what you get. Lily on the desk was great!!!
We had a great stay at Villa Alicia Guest House and would definitely rate it five stars. One of the things that stood out most was how welcoming and helpful the staff were. Whenever we had questions about how to get to certain places or what areas of Málaga were best to visit, the receptionist was incredibly kind and took the time to explain everything clearly and give us great recommendations. Another thing we really appreciated is that the reception staff speak excellent English. So if you’re visiting from abroad and don’t speak any Spanish, it’s absolutely not a problem, they communicate everything clearly and make you feel very comfortable. The guest house itself is very charming, especially the outdoor areas. The exterior is full of beautiful plants and greenery, which gives the whole place a lovely and relaxing atmosphere. It’s also very convenient that guests have access to a shared kitchen, and even a washing machine, which is very helpful if you’re staying for several days and want to prepare something yourself or do some laundry. In the mornings, the staff kindly offer coffee or tea and serve it very quickly, and you can enjoy it out on the terrace, which is a really pleasant way to start the day. Overall, a really pleasant place to stay with a warm atmosphere and thoughtful service. We would happily come back on a future trip to Málaga.
