Recyclo Bike Cafe
The Recyclo Bike Cafe is a cafe that is serious about bikes, and good food. The cafe is integrated with the bike shop, and the decor of the cafe is very much bike inspired, but also plays host to exhibitions by local artists. It's a delightful chilled-out bohemian kind of place, where cyclists of all stripes gather to eat and drink. It's a social hub, a place to meet before or after a ride, but also a cafe that serves the locals who pass by to enjoy its wholesome and supremely good value food, craft beers, and easy atmosphere. The menu is sourced from many local artisan and organic suppliers, and they offer a great range of breakfasts, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and a supremely cheap menu del día. Greg and Dave are the two expats behind the business that grew out of the bicycle shop that started in Pedregalejo in the east of the city. The cafe shares the location with a bicycle shop and repair workshop, which is one of the few in the city centre to offer sales, rentals and service all in one place, and it is the only one with a great cafe attached.
If you want to do Malaga and the province by bike, they have deals to suit everyone, and a cosy cafe waiting for you after every ride.
The bike shop is ideal for city bike users, as they will always help you with any maintenance issues on the spot. They stock some niche brands of bicycles that few other retailers can offer, such as the famous and still the most compact fold-up bike on the market, the Brompton. This iconic London manufacturer will only sell through Recyclo in Málaga, as their trusted outlet to manage the desired level of service and knowledge of the product. The North American brand Kona is the other stocked brand who specialise in mountain bikes and hybrid road bikes for city and more versatile road use. Coupled with first-rate after-sales service and expert knowledge of the fully qualified mechanics, and the extensive range of accessories and components, this is a first-rate bike shop for anyone needing a commuter or leisure bike.
Recyclo also offers rental bikes for sport cycling and can lead tours anywhere in the province. You can also rent a city bike for getting around town, and if you are staying for any length of time in the city you can rent long term for less than 1€ a day. Recyclo aims to promote sustainable living in its management of the restaurant, and in promoting city cycling and less car use.
Whether you're a cyclist or a pedestrian with time to spend in Málaga, a stop at Recyclo is always a pleasure. While we all love our cars, you have to say: 'four wheels good, two wheels better'.
