Description

Embark on a journey filled with cultural wonders and unique experiences with a day trip to Tangier from Malaga. Explore the city with a guide, see the Ville Nouvelle, and take a camel ride along the Atlantic coastline. In the early morning, your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Malaga and drive you to Tarifa. Once in Tarifa port, head to the ferry that will take you to Tangier. Upon your arrival from Tarifa, your guide will meet you and greet you at the port of Tangier. Start your day with a sightseeing tour around Tangier with an air-conditioned minivan. Drive through the Ville Nouvelle to learn about the European architecture. Learn how cosmopolitan Tangier is, where Muslims, Christians, and Jews have been living in peaceful coexistence. Drive through the California District with its fancy villas, mansions, and palaces including the Royal Palace. Drive west from Tangier through a spongy forest of eucalyptus, mimosa, cypress, and umbrella pine along a winding, sea-sprayed road. Have a short break for taking pictures in the Perdicaris Park. Continue on the track to the promontory Cap Spartel, nestling against an ancient cliff. On the northwest point of mainland Africa, looking out onto the coast of Spain, is the lighthouse. Drive along the Atlantic coastline before reaching the spot where you'll enjoy a camel ride experience. Drive back to the Kasbah District, which is built uphill overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar, the Iberian Peninsula, and the Medina. Meander around the intricate alleyways leading to the Kasbah's main square. Your guide will shed light on the Islamic religion and how the architecture is very symbolic in every building. Explore the vibrant Medina with its bustling cafes and shops. Get inspired by the preserved heritage of the locals including the communal oven or bakery, Mosques, and Hammams. The Souks are divided into sections according to specialty selling spices, antiques, vegetables, olives, leather, chandeliers, and much more. Your day trip may include a visit to the former American Legation, which witnesses the long-established diplomatic relations between Morocco and the United States of America. By the end of this Tangier day trip, you'll be escorted back to the port to get your ferry back to Tarifa, where your driver will be waiting for you to take you back to Malaga.
