La Térmica

La Térmica is a fabulous old building just over a 100 years old. It was originally built and an orphanage and sanitorium and its lofty wide corridors and tall windows have an unmistakeable institutional air about it, and it once could have appeared quite intimidating. Its history has been turbulent, as has Spain's until democracy was restored. In 2013 the Málaga provincial government opened the refurbished building as a centre for creative contemporary argts, and today it is a hip and buzzing hub of art, design, and contemporary culture in general. Of interest to the visitor are the various exhibitions of photography that come and go, frequent musical concerts and events by intriguing local ensembles, and extensive range of creative workshops available. From Lindy-hop dancing, to photography and much much more. The monthly programme is a fold out A2 poster, such is the plethora of events and workshops going on here, it fills it up easily. Well worth checking out for culture vultures.
