The location is good, right by the sea, although it’s about a 20 minute walk to the city center. The rooms, however, were not very well soundproofed. Especially in the bathroom, you could hear the neighbors as if they were in the same room. Private parking is available for €18 per day, and there are also plenty of blue-zone parking spaces nearby. The breakfast was excellent with a great variety of delicious options.
Just arrived tonight so a bit soon to be reviewing. However, no complaints so far. Hotel is easy to reach on the No 3 bus from outside the train station. Less than €2 for the 10ish minute journey. Chap on reception, Miguel, was very friendly and helpful. Has very good English. Our room is very clean and everything you would expect is present except a kettle. The coffee machine is great but as we're Scottish, a nice cup of tea is a must 🙂. Will update review once we've been here a few days.
To be honest, the hotel did not meet our expectations. Firstly, when we walked in, we thought that it was modern and actually underrated. After a night we actually found out why: The toilet started to absolutely stink up the whole place because of sewage. This was most annoying. Lying down in bed at night we could hear people’s conversations and doors shutting closed. The breakfast wasn’t good - not enough options, so our kids had to stick to eating bread, just bread. No pancakes, which was a disappointment. Also, huge lack of hygiene! The cleaner only cleans up the bed and maybe the floor.. However the toilet needed some cleaning - which she didn’t provide. A hair in the shower - we didn’t use it before checking. There was ants and a some kind of bug in the bathroom too. This hotel has a lot of potential - especially with its view and location - the fact that it’s beachfront.
I paid 250 euros for the room and I think the price is unfair. Pros: a good view of the sea from the window and cleanliness. Cons: the bedside shelves are wobbly, the walls are scratched, for some reason there was no toilet brush in the bathroom. Also, in the bathroom, you can hear loud voices of other residents from the exhaust vent. Overall, the soundproofing is not very good. The coffee machine was broken, and when I complained, they told me that a repairman could only come tomorrow. I asked for at least a kettle in exchange. I was told to go down to reception to get it myself. I did so and stood in line for another 20 minutes while the staff checked in other guests. In addition, direct access to the beach was closed, although it should have been open.
Hotel is located across the street from La Malagueta beach and about 30min walk to old town. Perfect location to combine beach holiday with a city trip. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Small pool area which is nice for sunbathing and pool towels available (refundable deposit of €10). Rooms were nice but limited toiletries so definitely bring your own!
