The Museo Aeronautico de Malaga is what you'd expect to find in a museum next to a busy airport. Its got airplanes old and new, stationed in the original airport terminal, a relic of an age gone by. Feel what it was like to walk into a terminal that now has more in common with an old railway station. Visit the engine hall where you can touch the exhibits, get close up and use interactive exhibits. The marvel of flight is explained in detail and practically. Several planes allow you to get inside and sit in a cockpit as a real pilot would. There is also a host of other airport paraphernalia to explore and a viewing terrace where you can watch the modern airport 's traffic in action from the best vantage point there is. Star of the show is a Douglas DC3 fully renovated, the first plane ever to use the airport 60 years ago. Free entry to all, open on Tuesdays 1000 - 2000 hours and Wednesday to Saturday 1000 - 1400 hours. The museum is located behind the San Miguel brewery at the airport entrance. Get there by Cercanias train from the Alameda or Maria Zambrano main station, or special airport bus route A.
