The MVA Arts Centre is an initiative of the regional department of culture of the provincial government of Málaga. The Maria Victoria Atencia Provincial Cultural Center is located in what was once the House of Foundlings, created by the guild of carpenters in 1573, called 'House of Children of Providence', which after different stages of construction, transformations and extensions during the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, could be recovered and converted into a place dedicated to culture. The last renovation of the building was carried out by the architect Luis Machuca Santa-Cruz. It clearly shows in its organization the axis, which links the two streets through which you have access: Parras y Ollerías. The work of Machuca is projected with the conviction that it improves the place of its location, the neighborhood.
It hosts an performance auditorium, exhibition halls, archives and libraries Cánovas del Castillo and Generación del 27, Antigua Imprenta Sur, meeting rooms and offices and offices.
The polyvalent centre offers a very broad programme of performances and exhibitions, featuring all kinds of music, dance and theatre, a wide variety of visual arts, and offers an extensive programme of workshops, courses and events.
