Parador del Gibralfaro

The Parador chain of hotels is a state owned enterprise that maintains dozens of historic buildings and hotels in iconic places around Spain. It is a flagship of the spanish hospitality industry and Malaga's Parador boasts probably the most outstanding location in the city, parked as it is on the edge of the mountain next to the castle of the same name, with the most commanding views over the city and coastline one can imagine. Nothing beats the view from up here on a warm summer evening, and it's a great spot just for a coffee even, anytime of day. The cuisine is traditional Mediterranean, but the location truly is the star.
