Restaurante Al-Yamal

Malaga

Middle Eastern Oriental
Al-Yamal is the longest established Maghrebine restaurant in the city, having been founded in 1983. While there are plenty of newer tea rooms that have decoration lifted from North Africa, this decor is fundamental to the experience of the cuisine and the feast for the senses. The decor is richly evocative of the medinas of North Africa, as is the music which accompanies you. The menu offers a range of tagines and cous-cous, and the delicacy of pastella, a savoury aromatic pastry filled with saffron infused chicken and nuts. On a clear day you can see the mountains of Morocco from the Málaga mountains, but the food is much closer, both historically, and right here in Soho.
