ADDRESSPaseo Cerrado de Calderon 14, Malaga, Pedregalejo
Directions
Virguerias is an Argentine steakhouse with a difference. What could be different you might wonder? The place alone is quite a contrast to most in Málaga. It is a high ceilinged interior, with heavy wooden decor, and alcoves laden with curios. It could almost be a Bavarian Bier Kellar, but the meats are unmistakeably Argentinian. But the menu is a lot broader than some steakhouses, with freshly made pasta for the dishes, and a range of classic Spanish delicacies and specialities. It has a large luminous terrace as well, if your curiosity can't hold you in the main restaurant. It's nice to find somewhere so individual and characterful where the commerce of interior design has stayed its hand to great effect. This place is full of personal touches, great atmosphere and great food. But you'll have to venture a little out of town. Another local secret.
